Spring was early, the summer warm and relatively dry, with heavy rains appearing from mid-August.

Breeding conditions:

Snowy Owl did not breed. Breeding success of predators and their impact on breeding waders were lower than usual. However, wader numbers were not significantly higher than the previous year, although Grey Plover were a little more abundant and Common Snipe were much more numerous than usual.
